We've all seen it on CNN. The original explosion took place months ago and many of us our starting to forget. In my line of work, it's only just the beginning. The gulf is known for their seafood, but in particular, their crabs, shrimp, and oysters. Seafood prices are skyrocketing as distributors are running short of supply, but our promise to you is that we are keeping our menu prices the same. In a time where value is in short supply, you can count on your neighborhood family owned seafood restaurant to offer fresh and delicious, seasonally availble seafood available and affordable.

Discover the best shrimp and sandwiches in town.
Fingers & Claws is the perfect place to take the family. Enjoy our casual atmosphere and watch the game on one of our many TVs.
We have been serving Montgomery County since 1985. Over time our menu has changed and grown. We recently added to our deli roots by expanding our sandwich and burger sections, added seafood, steaks, and family pastas. While crabs are seasonal, the rest of the menu is available year round.
Our family welcomes you to dine with us at Fingers & Claws--one of the few remaining family-owned restaurants in the area.

BP - The Gulf - Seafood - Oh My!!!
Know Your Crab
Our bluecrabs come from North Carolina and the Bay. Due to the spill in the Gulf, we no longer offer Texas and Louisiana crabs.
In the crab world, there is NO INDUSTRY GRADING STANDARD. This causes confusion and misunderstandings. A "Large" crab you get at Fingers and Claws may be a totally different size from the guy selling crabs from a truck. When you call and simply ask what sizes someone has, it means NOTHING. Ask about their grading scale. Compare apples to apples, or crabs to crabs in this case. KNOW WHAT YOUR BUYING!!!
Fingers and Claws Grading Scale
(tip to tip measurement in inches)
Regular up to 5 ½
Medium 5 ½ - 6
Large 6 - 6 ½
X-Large 6 ½ - 7
Jumbo 7 and up
WHEN CALLING AROUND FOR PRICING, DON'T JUST ASK: "WHAT SIZES DO YOU HAVE?" ASK WHAT THEIR GRADING SCALE IS AND WHAT A LARGE (FOR EXAMPLE) CRAB MEASURES IN THEIR ESTABLISHMENT. IF THEY DON'T TELL YOU, MOVE ALONG, IT'S CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH.
FOR EXAMPLE: You want crabs for the picnic so you call around. You call Fingers and Claws and we say we have Larges for $55 a dozen. Before we get to tell you our grading scale, you rush to find the next one in the phone book. Our competitor says they have Larges for $35 a dozen. Wow, you think you've found a deal. You show up to the competitor and they bring out your crabs that measure 5-5 1/4" across. They say those are larges, and if you wanted "Jumbos", you'd have to pay $60 a dozen. You ask what a Jumbo is and they say 6-6 1/2". At Fingers and Claws, that 6-6 1/2 crabs is considered a Large. Your already there, so you take whatever they have. Don't fall for the bait and switch!!! ASK: "WHAT IS YOUR GRADING SCALE ???"
